Another great theme Iain! Took more time to decide what to tie as there was so much choice.

I’ve went with a Squirrel and Blue for the sea trout and a Sir Richard tied on a double as opposed to a tube for the salmon.

I can’t even get my photos that sharp using a wee light box, tripod and remote release. Maybe my iPhone 6s no longer cuts the mustard!

Here is my effort for the March TOTM. The Flamethrower WG #6 and the RS Cascade seatrout special #10. It was a challange to take a picture for these two flies in today's wind!

Superb entry as ever especially like the shape and size of you heads....yes windy days as a pain ,have had to use my greenhouse for my photos.
What the hell have you sheltered your flies in?

Many thanks SEDGY! It's a piece of a shipwreck lying at a nearby cliff. There was a slot which was sheltered a bit from the wind. It's a good place for taking pictures for salmon flies and a walk :)

Those are lovely Andrzej. Hit the brief perfectly for a summer cast for grilse and sea trout on the dropper.
These could have my vote

You’re right there are some beauties on show and these are up there also imo.
If fly tying was like a signature then I would say you definitely have your own thing going on here.
1 The most beautiful heads that more importantly are functional and strong made for fishing and built to last.( tiny neat heads look great n all but they not functional for a fly that will take multiple fish and last.
2 The dressings are both very stout looking also which isn’t to everyone’s taste but I’m presuming you fish these flies?

That’s my critique and I love em.

I'm the same as you...... can't find good GP feathers for love nor money....... 😭
Having owned a fair few antique fly tying kits and collections I think some folk would be amazed at the difference of some materials compared to now?
Golden Pheasant is a great example and I’m pretty sure I’m right in saying we just don’t have the genuine original strain of Golden pheasant anymore as they’ve all been watered down and hybridised.
Whilst modern tying looks for bright colours, the Victorian tyers went the other way. So vintage GP crests were very pale but had red tips and the tails were much darker, well marked and tied like a dream.
The prized Jungle cock capes and nails were pretty much devoid of colour with the white ones highly prized.

Have you ever tried the Amgold Tails? As they the advantage of long barbs and a pair will last forever.

Thanks Andrew much appreciated 👍🏻😉......yes I fish them flies and these 2 in particular I've had a fair bit of success with. I agree everyone has their own taste in a fly, that's what makes and keeps fly dressing so interesting seeing new styles, patterns and learning new things all the time. Tight lines 🎣

Wow 😍. That Calvin - has to be one of, if not THE finest example I have seen. The other fly is great too but...🤩

I wonder if anyone would notice if I forgot to put them in the poll 🤔

My hat for this month! Not something I would normally do is fish a dropper, as find it difficult enough to control one fly on a line. But anyway size 8 usual shrimp and a dark mackerel size 12. Used red GP for the tail, dark red Holo and claret hen. Would fish this on lochs normal for sea trout. So thought I would do a wee double, but think it looks better on a bigger single.
