Nice fish, well done. Also good to see the prawn still being used. Shame alot of rivers and clubs have banned it.

For lip hooking fish and keeping them in the net makes for easy returning of fish.

well done , I'm jealous I can't fish that method up here without being hung, drawn and quartered , in my opinion the best method out of all of them for releasing fish as unharmed as possible
but as usual it's effectiveness meant it was heavily abused and it was easier to ban it than try and police it

The thing that i dont get is that worming seems to be prefered rather than the prawn and its alot easier to get a deep hooked fish when worming.

I was lucky enough to fish this method before it was banned around 30 years ago on the Don.
Don't recall ever deep hooking a fish with it.
In these days of total catch and release, there's no reason not to reintroduce the method, in my opinion.

There seems to be too many tales of the prawn spooking the pool for the day once ran through but i really dont see it. Hopefully it dosent become a lost art like the eel tail, sprat or static minnow etc.
