No seriously those are beautiful flies and not in the least bit overdressed.

Pretty good for someone just starting. Only thing I'd suggest; I notice on a few near the bottom of the image stack that you applied JC eyes and then collared in front / over the eyes. Others may disagree but when I'm finishing with JC eyes they are last and show atop the hackling when the fly is in use.

Otherwise you look like you've been at this style tying for a while.

Great tying skills. I take it you're not new to fly tying generally. I really like the prawn fly, it reminds me of the "yerman" pattern from Peter O'Reilly's book Flys of Ireland.

It depends on the fly Ard. On some shrimp type flies I prefer my eyes underneath the final hackle.
I'm sure the fish don't give a damn either way :):)
