As numpties in Parliament impose the most bonkers regs the country has ever seen after one of the biggest volte face in history, just because a cold does what all colds do and mutates, you can't help thinking of the last time some numptie benighted the country... Hey, fellas, been awhile, hasnt it?

Youth...

t's three o'clock in the morning, I'm on the streets again
Disobeyed another warning, Shoulda been home by ten
Now I stay out 'till Sunday, I have to say I stayed with friends
It's a habit worth forming, It's a means to justify the end

Dancing in the moonlight
It's caught me in it's spotlight
It's alright, it's alright, the moonlight
This long, hot summer night

I'm walking home
Last bus is long gone

The Smashing Pumpkins - Dancing in the Moonlight (Live) - London, UK - July 4, 1993 - YouTube

And then death. Not immediate, so dont go worrying - not that you would, of course, for you know me as much as I know you. Which is to say not at all!

I fear that I am ordinary, just like everyone
To lie here and die among the sorrows
Adrift among the days

For everything I ever said and
Everything I've ever done is gone and dead

As all things must surely have to end
The great loves will one day have to part
I know that I am meant for this world

My life has been extraordinary, blessed and cursed and won
Time heals but I'm forever broken
By and by the way
Have you ever heard the words I'm singing in these songs?
It's for the girl I've loved all along
Can a taste of love be so wrong

As all things must surely have to end
The great loves will one day have to part
I know that I am meant for this world

This is a more fitting lyric for the second song tere:

But I knew exactly where I was
And I knew the meaning of it all
And I knew the distance to the sun
And I knew the echo that is love
And I knew the secrets in your spires
And I knew the emptiness of youth
And I knew the solitude of heart
And I knew the murmurs of the soul

And the world is drawn into your hands
And the world is etched upon your heart
And the world so hard to understand
In the world you can't live without

Effing age. effing age.

Also.

F u ck. Choices.

Gonna find another place, maybe one I can stand
I move on to another day
To a whole new town with a whole new way
Went to the porch to have a thought
Got to the door and again I couldn't stop
You don't know where and you don't know when
But you've still got your words and you've got your friends
Walk along to another day
Work a little harder, work another way

Well, uh-uh, baby, I ain't got no plan
Well, I float on, maybe would you understand?
Gonna float on, maybe would you understand?
Well, I float on, maybe would you understand?

...............

Moths beat themselves to death against the lights
Adding their breeze to the summer nights
Outside water like air was gray
I didn't know what I had that day
Walk a little further to another planet
You said that you did, but you didn't understand

I know that starting over's not what life's about
But my thoughts were so loud, I couldn't hear my mouth
My thoughts were so loud, I couldn't hear my mouth
My thoughts were so loud

I like songs about drifters, books about the same
They both seem to make me feel a little less insane

I know that starting over's not what life's about
But my thoughts were so loud, I couldn't hear my mouth
My thoughts were so loud, I couldn't hear my mouth
My thoughts were so loud

Life isnt easy. I guess that the draw. :)

Funny old thing life.

4.5 billion years of atoms zapping around, occasionally coming together in human form and then off again... C'est la vie.

Still, soon the blood will be set, the wings will be fit, the keel will be fat, the dugs will be keen and ready, and the hunt will go on (keep going on till it doesn't)...

or perhaps the thrash version suits Pumpkinheads better :)

Heero, wash yer gob out dude!, sacrilege indeed of the highest order!. Nowt against the Pumpkins, but come on that song is one of Phillip Paris Lynott's best and with all the best will in the world, the Pumpkins could never hold a candle to Lizzy, especially the line up at the time of Dancing in The Moonlight.
A show man extraordinaire and one of the best live bands going!, look at the legacy he and the band left!.

I really love this topic. Its a good outlet. You dont really know me. I dont really know you. Thankfully. Regrettably. :)

In this life like weeds, you're just a rock to me
You're just a rock to me, you're just a rock to me
And in this life like weeds, you're just a rock to me
And in this life like weeds, in this life like weeds

I could have told you all that I love you
And in the places you go, you'll see the place where you're from
I could have told you all that I love you
And in the faces you meet, you'll see the place where you'll die

I could have told you all that I love you
And on the day that you die, you'll see the people you've met
I could have told you all that I love you
And in the faces you see, you'll see just who you've been

I wish I could have told you all

...

All this talking all the time and the air fills up, up
Up until there's nothing left to breathe
And you think you feel most everything
And we know that our hearts are just made out of strings to be pulled
Strings to be pulled

So you think you've figured out everything
But we know that our minds are just made out of strings to be pulled
Strings to be pulled

All this talking all the time and the air fills up, up
Up until there's nothing left to breathe
Up until there's nothing left to speak
Up into the better parts of space

Me, me, me. No s_t (fil in the blank).

Boredoms in the bathroom shaking out the loose teeth
Sally's in the stirrups claiming her destiny
And nobody nowhere understands anything
About me and all my dreams
Lost at sea

Jack it up judy set your heart alight
Mayfair mistress of the satellites
Misspent youth- faking up a rampage
To hold off the real slaves
Paid off and staid
And what you never knew
Can never get to you
So fake it

I'll be your stumbleine
I'll be your super queen
And make you
Jukebox ****up hanging round the drugstore
No matter what you say he'll be back for more
Mommy's in the manger with the little kids
She's got her reasons, got my forgets
Of tears and idle threats
Misplaced
And no matter what they do
They can't get to you
So fake it
I'll be your stumbleine
I'll be your super queen
And make you me
Come around ruby I could never sleep alone
