Good evening gentlemen, apologies if this is in the wrong section but I wasn't sure where to post it.

Pending the world returning to some kind of normality by April I am planning a trip to fish the River Cree, Newton Stewart Beat.

I'm not a regular Salmon angler, in fact this will be my first trip so will have to purchase some appropriate lures.

I already have a number of Rapala CD09's but was wondering if anyone had any advice on what size Toby's and Flying C's would be appropriate for the rivers usual pace and depth.

Any advice appreciated.

Cheers

happy days

My mate who spins on the cree height permitting swears by a 20g Toby in silver, try the fly on a single hander 7 or 8 wt red ally’s and cascades 10s and 12s will see you right, no need to be a double hand expert, easy river to fish,if you hook up in April it will be a bar of silver, hold on tight, good luck
