wel done i enjoyed this post i made a reel a few years back not a good as this one i was a tool maker i was always making stuff i was lucky i had a full toolroom at my disposal

I wonder if yours was the one I picked up at auction and binned last week?

It was nicely turned wood, but crude aluminium foot without ratchet.

Interesting but without value as my tackle must now earn its keep. all the vintage gear is gone alas, all gone, bar that which is better than today's offerings, better than today's.
