Hello everyone from Angus, about a mile away from the North Esk.
Not fished the Esk yet but am well familier with the Dee having fished it a lot in the late nineties when I ran Murrays Tackle and Guns shop in Banchory.
Work and finances stopped the search for Salar for a long time but better days have arrived again and after some success on the Garry about a month ago I am totally addicted again.
I have trolled the forum for a while now and thought it was high time I joined so here I am.
Great forum with lots of good info so keep it up all of you.:D

Hi Euan,

Welcome to the forum.
Some good fishing on the Northie, but it is water dependent.
Can be superb on a falling water.

Cheers

Thanks Mows.
I am really familier with the Northie round Edzell when I am out with my dogs, just haven't fished it yet. Just dying for a chuck on Stracathro too.

Praying for rain like everyone else!:D

Pretty close. If you didn't turn right after you left the A90 you would get there. The Cairn is closed again today for three weeks indirectly due to snow.
Some nice person wiped out the parapet on the little Spittel bridge during the winter and it is closed for repairs.
