Thanks chaps!!! ๐Ÿ‘

Apparently the Green Silk was the go to fly for many anglers on the Faughan before the Irish Shrimps became used more and more. The hairwing version was used most often as the wing was much easier to work with than Mallard.

The Green Silk, paired with a Fiery Brown, was a combination that many used above all others.

I really like this runner for winging these flies! ๐Ÿ™‚

Is the wing fiery brown or orange?cheers F1.

It's dyed Fiery Brown but has come out a lovely rich ginger colour. Perhaps not what the person dying it intended but exactly what I was looking for! ๐Ÿ˜
