Any recommendations on the above, should I just persevere with the fingers, hands aint what they used to be.

Took a tip from 'Featherbender' and glued some fine emery paper on to the jaws of my hackle pliers. Never slip now even with the finest of threads or hackles.

I have some nice modern rotary pliers , but still use my 50 odd year old Veniard classic style more than anything else.
Unmarked after all these years. :thumb:

Hi John.

I have started tying again after a good few years away from it & I have been using one of the grips for holding the flies to dry & found it to be great. For years like ibm I only used the standard veniards hackle pliers & never found any reason to change from them.

Cheers guys, found a couple of the old style ones in a box in the loft, more materials also, thought i'd given it all away, just need to bring it all together.
