Geordie Shrimp

Had a go at tying a shrimp pattern shown to me by my pal George Boyne last year while on a trip to fish the Don. We met on the Tuesday and shared a great day fishing the South Esk at Kirriemuir A A water. Being the jammy bugger that I am I did manage to winkle out a 10lb salmon from the corner pool almost at last knockings! On the way back to Aberdeen we popped into the Drovers Inn and enjoyed a Tuesday night steak and chips. It was a great day, with fantastic spate water in wonderfull company. George showed me this fly that he had tied in memory of his dad, known as 'Geordie', who had sadly recently passed away.

During the last two days of the 2019 season I managed a 9lbs Sea Trout and a 6lbs Grilse on this pattern, tied on a size 10 Partridge Outpoint treble.

Anyway, George, I hope its close enough to the original for you.
