I built this for my pal for his now cancelled trip to Argentina to fish for monster sea trout on the Rio Gallegos.

Excellent work as ever, love that grip!!

Was just wondering about Dicky's trip the other day and thinking that may have been the outcome.
Yup titts up like everything else Andy.
I was building a 14'9 for the guide he was meeting in Chile, thats titts up too so got it up for grabs now.
Desperate to get the spinning blanks back. Boy should be done with them in next couple weeks.
Were trying to get out somewhere local at the weekend to get them all tested.

As you’d expect they keep getting better imo? What a bummer about the Sea Trout trip of a lifetime.
Thats not the worst bit. His Argentinian girl friend and young son came over to visit end of last year and they were all meant to be flying back out to Argentina about now. But she is now trapped here and can't get home until March.

Fished the Gallegos 4 times and this would be a really nice rod for the more braidy stretches, have to say tho, I would want to gun up a bit more for the real monsters the river produces.
I've built him a 12'9" #9/10 for his trip also. He actually gave me the specs for the blank.
We tested them yesterday and were delighted with them.
We really liked the 13'6 and 12'9 the best they both have a lovely through action which made them easy to cast. The 12'9 was slightly stiffer and found a 600 rage lovely to cast on both. We tried a skagit with amnesia running line on the 12'9 it was like a catapult, aim and fire.

No need to gun up...That would have coped just fine..The water is so low at the moment that a single hander would be the weapon of choice..River is apparently full of good fish just now just super spooky and proving very difficult for the locals apparently..
