French navy seen escorting economic migrant boats in to UK waters, We have payed the french millions to try to stop these boats and all along they are helping them over, Its about time the uk government stopped paying anything to the E.U till this disgrace is stopped. Any migrants that make it to UK shores should be imprisoned until they give up what nationality they are so they can be returned to where they come from.

Just watched the video a complete and utter disgrace, these migrants should be towed back to the French coast after all this is a safe country that they have departed from, come Boris get a grip!

Is that a gunboat or a boat with a gun?

Well, it all largely depends on your disposition I think we learned.

Some would say that the grey painted French vessel of about 40m with 75 uniformed French Navy crew is actually a search and rescue vessel on vital life saving EU humanitarian work whilst the British vessel of less than half its size is in fact a war ship crewed by tory mercenaries with a tory Minister in command(y)

Kinda concerns me this one. Most the migrants are running from war torn homelands, or other horrendous issues. For sure their are a small percentage percentage taking the piss. Some the journeys to get this far has been utter horrendous so things must be bad back home. Lots are normal folks, Doctors, Teachers, Tradesmen, etc.
I was really proud of Britain during the second WW, and how many families took in Polish and other refugees having no choice but to leave their home.
Should we as a rich nation, and in some ways, have companys profiting from mineral extraction in these war torn lands, not have a different attitude towards folks running for their lives. I cant imagine for one min what it must be like to run from your homeland through no action you or any associate has made.
Im also bit biast if I must be true, I got no time for Farage. I can see why he gets on with Trump. ( And that is something elz , )

My main problem with this at the moment is I think this is a thinly vailed threat to the british government, the French are saying we want fishing rights or your getting the migrants.

Well France is a great deal larger than the UK, so they have more room for migrants in terms of housing sites etc. But as Greenlaner said I fear this is being used as a weapon to pressure the UK on fishing rights, which we mustn't concede if our' fish stocks are ever going to recover; so if the French are being negligent in their operations then the UK should stop these boats at sea, request that the French come to collect them, and if this is refused then we should tow them back to France and impound the boat as it's being used for criminal activities. We should then invoice the French for the cost each time as plainly their naval/coast guard resources are so over stretched that they require our assistance on a temporary basis until they build up their forces to a level which can undertake the role in an effective manner.
No one could accuse us of not assisting our neighbours in a time of obvious difficulties for them.

Regards, Tyke.

i have never understood why these people are so desperate to leave EU countries and risk their lives to get to the U.K. we must be seen as a soft touch and it is deplorable that France is assisting them in this way.

I think many migrants wish to come to the UK because of the language, many speak English.
By cons what I do not understand is that all the sectors in Libya, Morocco in Turkey are perfectly known, they know the manufacturers of the famous inflatable boats; he
it might be more effective to strike at the source. Because I think it will be between climate problems, wars, the Covid etc. We two countries are real aspirants to migrants
UK for language, France for social benefits (my son who is self-employed is less helped than any migrant)

Which do you think will dominate the BBC news more, Dominic Cummings or the French allowing migrants free passage across the English Channel. Just wondering that's all.
