First of the seasons fly swaps, and got the required 10 very quickly as listed below:

Piker20 :)
Dryfly
Jockiescott
nwsalar
mc andy :)
Gwelsher :)
Loxie :)
FaughanPurple
Wolds salmon :)
GaryD :)

The theme for this swap is "Season's Most Succesful Fly", so everyone picks their best pattern for the year, whether its on a single, double, tube, etc, posts a pic on this thread then sends 10 of them to me (I'll pm everyone my address), along with a SAE for return. (NB: there will be hooks so enclose a suitable package so no posties are harmed in the making of this swap!)

Once all in, I'll sort them out and post them back, giving everyone a full set including one of your own.

Deadline for entries is 21st November, giving us 4 weeks to get the 10 done.

Given the theme there may be some duplication of popular flies, but each of us will have our own wee twists and with overseas interest it should be a good one, so to the vice and get tying ;)

If no one else is doing a Kinermoney Killer flamethrower, I'll do 10 of them for the swap. :)

Mines a take on the green mamba. Not sure yet if I'll so early tube style or later hook style.

Red fly

Here is my offering for the swap :) it was a choice between two as I had equal success on a gold bodied Willie Gunn but this was a better option for the swap as we have seen a gbwg.

This is my go to fly on the Clyde and is simply called the red fly.

So that's the practice one out the way

Very nice, and aren't you the organised one :p

Different from anything else I've got so can't wait to see it in the flesh :D

Good selection so far, and lot of variety, shaping up to be a good swap.

Kk variant

Hi.

I've just done mine which I notice has already been done. But different size and probably different dressing.....and it's the best pattern so you can never have too many....

I'll chuck them in the post today and try to work out how to put photos up.

I'm very impressed with the ones so far- the red shrimps are going to be leathal on a piece I fish in August each year.

Been reading some books on history of salmon fishing, and some would have you believe its not the fly but the way its fished that matters so patterns are irrelevant. That being the case, you can't have too many kk's, or any other style :D

Piker20, your flies arrived today and look the part, great tying

I'm glad my flies arrived. Was worrying cause the post office didn't convince me they would fit for the postage they said.

Look forward to seeing the full swap set in the flesh. Here fishy fishy fishy!
