Thanks Alan. TBH all the hair used in these came from the £25 off cut box from AM Flyting. There was some peely wally looking dark tipped fox that got a swim in Golden Yellow dye this morning.Lovely flies and the materials look quality too.
Thanks Patrick. If I'm being honest I find this style of fly very easy to tie. It's just about fine wing layers over hackles to build up the profile. Each wing getting thinner and finer as you build up.You tie a braw fly Westie. Your KK’s as well. Your wings in both are cracking. Good skills
Probably not, but I think this style of fly looks better with it on.Excellent tyings. Lovely mix of furs, and nice taper, in the wings - anyone would be happy to fish with these.
Do you think the JC is an essential part of the dressing, as a fish attractor I mean?
My favourite spring fly Andy and you have nailed it.
Good luck on opening day with those, if there's fish about they'll work.
Be sure to tie yourself a couple with a Kingfisher Blue throat.
You'll be knocking the springers off with a big stick!!!!!!!
Springers written all over them andy and very nicely tyed
I got myself the required banana furs just need to source the hackles before
I can give them a go
