Thanks Alan. TBH all the hair used in these came from the £25 off cut box from AM Flyting. There was some peely wally looking dark tipped fox that got a swim in Golden Yellow dye this morning.

The hackles are plain white and plain grizzle that I buy off eBay. I generally cut them in half and dye them to whatever shade I fancy/need at the time.

Thanks Patrick. If I'm being honest I find this style of fly very easy to tie. It's just about fine wing layers over hackles to build up the profile. Each wing getting thinner and finer as you build up.

As I've been on the Bananas today, I may well get started on the Monkeys tomorrow!

Do you think the JC is an essential part of the dressing, as a fish attractor I mean?

My favourite spring fly Andy and you have nailed it.
Good luck on opening day with those, if there's fish about they'll work.
Be sure to tie yourself a couple with a Kingfisher Blue throat.
You'll be knocking the springers off with a big stick!!!!!!!
