Evening Folks,

Connemara Black, is from the west of Ireland and can be a very effective fly for spring salmon. I have filmed a video but I've had to get a new Laptop and need to down load a good video editor, So the dressing/tying below until I upload all being well.

Tying:
Tag- Silver Tinsel and yellow floss
Tail- GP crest feather & GP tippet
Body- Black seal's fur
Rib-Oval silver tinsel
Body hackle- Black cock
Throat hackle-Blue jay
wing-Red, yellow & blue swan, Bronze mallard over wing
Sides- pintail (optional) I have used teal feather
Head- Black

Cracker well tied caught my first salmon on this pattern not as well tied as yours. cheers F1
Thanks Fish boy, doesn't really matter IMHO because the wing will get wrecked once you start fishing. I have often wondered why tyers take so much time over these type of feather wings when in the end the wing will be the first part of the fly to fall part after a few fish and casting etc...

thats a really good and well tied fly for both salmon and sea trout, one of my favourites but i dont tie them as well as you.
