I've got a 17ft Expert in superb condition. Bought it about 1990. Only used it a couple of times on the Tweed. It's been redundant for a while!!. I also have a Cordon Bleu, 14ft,carbon, that's seen better days. I'll have a go at the refurb myself.

17ft B&W Expert. Wow, I don’t think I have the strength to lift the rod never mind fish with it. I can remember way back when after trying a 16ft Expert and thinking no way can I fish this for a period even though I could get out a reasonable line by 1980's standards. .

Yes you can use them but resale they have little value and to compare them to today rods is like comparing the performance of a model T Ford with a modern day car such as has been the development of rods since the 1980,s. My advice - leave them in the past where they belong and use something more modern

Absolutely! A couple of outings was enough for me. I bought a 15ft B & W Fish Eagle soon after, and that became my main rod for a good while.
