A wee one from tonight

After not having much luck with the salmon this year I decided to build myself a 2/3wt switch rod and have a go for trout. I went out for the first time with it tonight and caught this guy on a size 12 teal, blue and silver. Not what I was expecting.

Thanks
The wee rod handled it surprisingly well and it didn’t take long to land him although the fish was pretty well behaved. It was caught on a large pool without to strong of a flow and he just did a few long, fast, straight runs and tired himself out. I wouldn’t have had much control if I had to try and bully him. The river was the Kyle of Sutherland.

Well done pal.(y)(y)
I was speaking to a friend the other day who said that the Kyle wasn't fishing well this year?
Maybe everyone should change to wee trout flies?:D:D

I haven’t been out much this year but I don’t think it has been great.
Low water is normally good for us, the fish normally wait in the Kyle for the rivers to get enough water for them to run up so I’m not sure where they are this year.
