No surprises there to see that the governement is cooking the books to make some rivers on the west coast seem in a better state than what they really are . Seems the rivers are bursting with wild salmon . We just canny catch them . The fish farming on the west coast must be doing no harm at all . This system was always prone to false reporting of catches that will make a river look better than what it really is . The whole grading system is a mess from the start .

Spot on! There is a certain Ayrshire river that has somehow managed to go from a Cat 3 to a Cat 1! Nae idea how that could be possible. Made even more suspicious by the fact its larger neighbor who it shares an estuary with, remains a Cat 3? Apparently it is the most improved river in the country! Shambles!!

If we are talking about the same water it was definitely Cat 3 last year. The 2016 Category is in the left hand column.

How can the Girvan go from a 3 to a 1 ? How can the Doon stay at a 1 ? How can the Stinchar go to a 1 ? There are big fat fibs being told somewhere .
