    Default Messing around with feathers - Willie Gunn

    Here's a bit of a play on a Spring Gold Willie Gunn but trying to use feathers rather than Bucktail (there's a little Bucktail kick at the back of the fly as a rostrum).

    I honestly don't think I need any more willie gunns as I have boxes stuffed with them but that's one cracking take on it Patrick and it's on a Waddie love it and will most definitely be copying it a material list would be very much appreciated

    Thanks Arnold glad you like it, itís a fishing fly and itís definitely getting a swim.

    Materials list:

    Waddington (1 inch)
    Tag: gold wire
    Back body: gold holo and wire rib
    ĎRostrumí: mix of yellow and orange bucktail; red/yellow/orange (shorter)and gold midge flash (longer)
    Front body: black floss with Mylar rib
    Hackle 1: heron sub black
    Hackle 2: orange burnt goose shoulder
    Hackle 3: yellow hen; 2 strands lady Amherst yellow and orange either side: gold mirror flash either side
    Hackle 4: black hen
    JC
    Red head
    Yellow or orange shrink wrap tubing for seating
