The red one had a swim at Dalmarnock last Sat but to
no avail, very few fish seen and nothing caught on the whole beat even with a couple of guys harling with Colin🙁
Hoping to get on the Teith next Sat for a last chuck of the season so fingers crossed.
In their defence, the marabou tail looked superb in the water so think Ill be using it more often, except in really fast water when the bucktail should swim better.

I take it you didn't have any problems with tail wrapping gary? I've had a clp of fly's in mind for a while that I'd like to try with marabou but I just haven't got round to tying them yet, something to try in the close season Tightlines for for next weekend hope you get a bend in the rod 🎣

Andy, its marabou, some flash and a gp feather over the top, not my creation just standard kylie pattern👍

Arnold, no problems re wrapping round hook, I tie the tag in then tail with a couple of thread turns in behind/beneath the tail to keep it out of trouble🙂 If I was tying on trebles probably put some varnish or uv in at back where hooks meet to cover possible cinch point.

For slower moving and slack water and where one needs to be moving the flee, those flee's are absolutely CRACKING!.
I've tried similar myself, but my overall construction techniques are lacking by comparison.
For the less than expert tyers like myself photo's of flee's such as your's GaryD are invaluable in being a field of reference towards working things out in tying such flee's.
Inspiring stuff and thank you very much for sharing.

They look perfect for some of the pools i fish where the water is slower over popular lies near the far bank, you want movement but dont want to move the fly away from the fish Kylie Shrimps
