This is just up your street Pete. It fishes well when the water in the pools your used to have gone. More fish hold down there as well and some pools that will suite you once you learn the waters. fishes a lot better in low water, hence the reasoning for the exchanges

I agree its confusing and misleading to call trout sea trout by that name when clearly they are rainbows, but I think they can use it as these rainbows may have been reared in salt water farms. I've seen some of the top chefs cooking "Sea Trout " menus but when you look they are clearly...

Could it be that sea trout are farm reared as are the salmon? I must admit I've not heard of a sea trout farm reared but if the fish are all a standard size could be a possibility. Maybe one of the Scottish lads could provide the answer.

This was in the early 70,s when fish ran upstream earlier to get away from all the toxic waste coming down the Calder. We have mentioned this in detail in earlier posts. Those were the days when we had litterly dozens of fish every year. The keener lads lost count of just how many.
