"Combat" Flyfishing Setup for King Salmon

Hey Guys, Last week, went up to the Oswego River to try some King Salmon fishing and, as always, it was very crowded. Due to this, part of your fishing strategy MUST be to make short casts and drifts; otherwise, you're constantly tangling lines and lures with other guys and/or striking them...

Palomar knot strength vs Improved clinch knot

was rigging my gear up for salmon fishing and thought I’d try using a Palomar knot-As opposed to Using my normal improved clinch knot- to increase the strength of the tie to the barrel swivel; However , the opposite seemed to occur. European vs North American Salmon

Hey guys, although I’d love to one day, I’ve never fished for salmon in the UK , only experience heretofore being in upstate NY. Dominant species are primarily the transplanted King Salmon, also Cohos and a few Atlantic’s (very few). What species are found in the UK is my question? Thanks, David

    When does the season start?

Hey guys , my experience with salmon fishing is very limited only doing the run in the fall in upstate NY. Are there fishing opportunities in the spring for salmon in rivers and streams or is it just limited to the fall run? Thanks so much David

    Fighting Kings

Hey Guys ; not sure how much experience you all have with King Salmon but thought I’d throw it out there anyway. Fishing the Great Lakes tribs in upstate NY and catching only Kong’s although there are Cohos and Atlantic’s too just not as many . When you hook into a King , the fight is TREMENDOUS...
