Default Scierra Sweep 14 ft 9/10

Lads anybody have any experience of this rod?

    Default Scierra sweep

Yes I got one second hand last year as a starter salmon fishing set. I've been trout fishing many years with decent rods and found the sweep a bit sloppy. It made me tired pulling the line off the water; I got a daiwa wilderness xt in no time and never looked back.
It might be cheap but its a false economy.

I agree - step up to a Scierra Ferox and you should be ok.

I have a sweep 10ft #7 trout rod and its good but its not a #7wt its more like a #5 wt if your using airflow 40+ lines. the correct weight for the line is marked in grams on the rod as it is with all Scierra rods and it pays to weigh all your lines before using them IMHO.

I have never used the salmon rods in this model but i do use the scierra Ferox rods and i get on well with them using shooting heads.

    hope this helps
