    Default C&R by an idiot

All this talk of C&R I thought it might be useful to post some examples of practice.

I fish C&R rivers almost all the time so have a fair bit of experience of doing it these days. You'd think I'd go the hang of it by now.

This first film demonstrates there can be a tendency to be too concerned about returning the fish on occasion that the good intentions get in the way.

Then there is the problem of net technique. Here in this example is the 'ghillie jog release'. On this occasion I decided to wait until the net was to hand. In retrospect not a great idea for the fish which might have been better off if it was brought to hand and sent on its way, rather than wait for the ghillie to go a few hundred yards up and down the bank to get the net.

Then, on occasion it comes together.

Safer to chap 'em first perhaps
