Default European vs North American Salmon

Hey guys, although Iíd love to one day, Iíve never fished for salmon in the UK , only experience heretofore being in upstate NY. Dominant species are primarily the transplanted King Salmon, also Cohos and a few Atlanticís (very few). What species are found in the UK is my question?

    Thanks,
    David

Our only native salmon are Atlantics. Our other migratory game fish is the sea trout, the migratory version of salmo trutta. Over the last few years, weíve had some pinks turn up but very few have been caught.

Thatís what I figured , how lucky you are to have a viable population of Atlantic's!! Any idea of How robust the fishery is currently ?

Some rivers are holding up but quite a few are struggling.

Sadly not Northcountryman, but I think I speak for a lot of people when I say it's certainly on a "wish list"!.
