Thread: Zpey Blanks

    Default Zpey Blanks

For a long time now, I have been reading posts and comments on here and other places about how good the blanks are on the Zpey rods.

I had never had the opportunity to cast one until a couple of days ago. The rod was a HM Signature 13'9", 10 wt matched with the 10wt fusion II head and running line. To cut a long story short, I was well impressed with the setup to say the least.

I came away from having tried it, thinking the same as almost everyone else, "lovely blank but not too sure about the handle". The more I thought about it the more I wondered if it was the blank alone. Was it the blank, was it the head and running line, was it the handle or was it the combination of all of these that made it feel so "right" ?

    Any comments or ideas ?

I think it's the combination of everything.

Once you get used to the handle, it's really, really good.

May feel strange initially, but Zpeys outfits are really well put together in terms of ease of casting and feel good factor in the hands.

    Quality gear alright.

Time to see if their heads go as well off my own rod first.

OK....I'll come clean.....I think they (the blanks and their kinky handles) are quite good
