    Default Dalswinton River Nith.

Here are a few wee photo's of me fishing the top beat of the Dalswinton fishings at the end of November.
The water was quite low, only a few iches on the guage.
    Unfortunately I never caught anything.
I did however see a stack of fish mostly residents but a few fresh ones about too.
This first pic is what greets you when you arrive at the top beat the view looking up the magnificent forest pool towards the Royal Cast pool

This is the view from the the top of the forrest pool looking downstream to Friarse Carse.

Here's me having a go at the run leading in the the forrest pool

Here's me at the neck of the forrest pool. Loads of fish were showing and I got a solid pull but nothing else.

A bit further upstream is the fishing hut which has this lovely bit of fly water in front of it, again it was stuffed with residents but nothing wanted to play ball.

Here's me trying to let one ripp to the far bank.(Why do the fish always lie on the far bank!!!!!)

This is the Friarse carse stretch below the forrest pool looking down towards dead mans hole on the corner with the big hoose

This is a wee bit further down the same stretch it's a lovely bit of fly water in slightly higher water conditions say around the 1ft to 1ft5in mark.

    In the forrest

A wee lookout point through a big tree

Great Day had although nothing caught. Good company and a wonderfull setting what more could you want.(thanks to dad for taking the pics.)

Thanks. my old man is a dab hand with the camera.
I will try and dig out my pics of the bottom beat which is by far the better of the 2 beats.
It doesn,t have the same scenic quality as the top beat but it produces more fish!

    Default Dalswinton

Great images of Dalswinton, though I have always known the pool in your first photo as the "Shank", with the "Forrest Pool", below it after the big rocks. Either way, a lovely stretch of water.
