Default Last Cast OF The last Day

Thursday 15th November 08 River Nith DGAA beat

The very last cast of the day on my final salmon outing of the season produced the most satisfying moment of my fishing career.

After a long cold days fishing, I'd just about given up to start the long drive back to Glasgow. I clambered out of the river and on to the steep bank and then thought I'll just have one more cast. Something thumped my black flying C and after about a 10 minute battle in the dark, I managed to land a superb 10Lb salmon (the biggest I've ever caught and my first for 2 seasons). It wasn't such a long drive after all

What a way to end the season. This fish will stay in my memory for a long time to come and will keep us going over the festive season!

    Default Well done.

It was nice to put a face to a name Crawuk. You got a result there mate, especially when the conditions were far from ideal.

Just shows if we keep trying there's always a chance.
    A man's a man for a' that.
