Talking River Maine, A Grand Day Out.

Autumn fishing with Easky on the Maine at Shanes Castle, perfect scenery and massive fish.

    Autumn Gold.

    Good water.

    Scott McKenzie impersonator.

Easky smiles, having recovered from the "Dance of Death" around the estuary stream rocks.

Yours truly, doing some totally awesome casting.

No, its not bent in a fish.

Any Chance......."Is it cos I is black"?

Easky tests the Guideline lifetime warranty to the limit.......who needs rod clamps??

You would think a river this nice would have fish......

    The, er, massive fish.

..... least you caught a fish

grand day out indeed even if the fish didn't oblige and certainly better than an afternoon at work!

stunning beat - tree lined banks, deer, pheasents, squirrels, blue jays, buzzards, herons, partridge to name some of the wildlife wondering about

... and btw, you know its not easy to get a cast to look like that
so much fishing, so little time

Nice report guys, looks a great river with some nice fly water. The close up picture of the fish and reel is pin sharp, What camera/setting did you use?

Canon IXUS 750 set on auto.

I'm a bit **** with the photos/cameras, its all a bit experimental at the moment. I'll find a setting that gets the other ones in sharper focus soon.

So anyone with a canon IXUS, please advise on the best settings for differing pics.

Nice pics rrw35, easky looks a bit shaken up after that wade!!

It's up there with the trickiest wades I've seen.

Have to query the quality of the guide though, when I had him he got a salmon & lost one!

Scared me there for a minute. Thought you had sneeked in and got a 'massive' one in my absence!! Water looked nice and clean but I'm sure you were hooking up on the leaves? Had hoped to give it a 'throw' during next week but serious weather for Sunday so probably back in flood.
