Default This is what flyfishing is all about !

Just thought I would share some pictures from the last couple of years with you - since it will be a
couple of months before most of us get the chance to throw a fly over a salmon again

Waiting for the ice to melt ! (small Scandinavian stream)

Waiting for the clock to strike 6 am - start of season (Bondals River, Norway

Looking for the right one (Banks of Gaula, Norway)

Discussing why we don't catch anything ? (Bondals River, Norway)

Enjoying salmon all the others catch (Stjoerdal River, Norway)

Exhited about my friends fight while the guide, Steve, from Scotland watches (Hofsá, Iceland)

At cosy shelter (River Stjoerdal, Norway)

Fishing through the night (River Stjoerdal, Norway)

    Getting a flat tire

... at the wrong spot (Banks of Hofsá, Iceland)

Never mind the flat tire (River Hofsá, Iceland)

Better get your spey or roll casts right (Mörrum, Sweden)

Sunday sports on River Dee at Potarch Bridge - kayaks negotiating the fall

River Feugh meeting River Dee (does it get any better)?

The big one I lost (Hofsá, Iceland)

One of those I got (River Stjoerdal, Norway)

    Sheep (Hofsá, Iceland)

The one I got at Commonty, River Dee
    [

Windy conditions - fjord at mouth of Bondals River, Norway

Fishermen close to shore - met while flyfishing for sea trout in Denmark

Autumn afternoon on the coast in Denmark

My home, my Avis car and my rod - what more do you need ? (Stjoerdal River, Norway)

Good fishing water, Stjoerdal River, Norway (this is where a friend of mine caught his first salmon ever - 22 lbs !)

Rain at last ! (Stjoerdal River, Norway)

Trying hard to get a heavy fly out there ! (Stjordal River, Norway)

    Good pool in Gaula, Norway

    Beautiful pool in Gaula, Norway

    Gaul Foss, Norway

    Upper part of Gaul Foss

More of the same (but I just can't get enough of it)

    Night at Stjoerdal River, Norway

And to finish it for this time:
As fat as they get - caught on small hitch fly - single handed rod (Hofsá, Iceland)

    Hi AllFish and rrw,

The flies in the box on the picture from Gaule are mainly variations of Red Tag, Skjerns Fancy, some schrimp imitations and my personal favourites: Laxa Blue (from Iceland) and Rusty Rat (had two salmon in River Dee in May on Rusty Rat s# 6 # 8). I favour single hooks.

As for the lines I must admit that I am somewhat of an ignorant as I tend to ask my local dealer for advice and leave it for him to decide what suits my rod and reel. I do know, however, that the brownish line on the double handed rod is Rio's Midspey as I bought that in the US. If I remember right the yellow line on the single handed rod (picture from Hofsá is a Snowbee line). The green/brown line on my saltwater real on the picture from the Danish coast is as far as I remember Vision Compound WF (normally I actually just use a short shooting head and a running line "Amnesia" which I think is from Rio).
