Thumbs up Look what I caught yesterday!

I managed to pay a flying visit to the Spey yesterday, where I managed to catch and release this beautiful fresh hen fish. Still had one or two sea lice on, and measured 94cm. Various estimates in weight vary from 21-23.5lbs, whatever! It gave me a fantastic fight and was both exhilarated and exhausted after a frantic 20minutes. My best UK fish to date! Unfortunately I hadn't time to throw anything next to the fish for scaling and the picture really doesn't do justice to its size, I was really more concerned about getting it back safely into the water.

Brae water, Beat 5. In the fast hard water right in the top neck of Dipple. I was fishing my 18 powerlight and tay outfit, she still managed to rip 80yds of line off the reel in one go, airborne lots too. All very exciting, sadly I had no one there to share it with.

Lovely fish Sagecaster and nice to get a report in from the Spey too. Brae water seems to have fished well this year?
