Sorry onthedangle, I never noticed the last of your multi selection it is the Don at Fettercain I think the beats called. Fished it last year was not impressed by the bank access and the wading was an absolute nightmare.

    The beat is Fetternear

Thats the Bridge (Shaking Brig)at the bottom of the beat & the pool above the bridge is a super pool

Agree access is not great down there but did you go all the way up to the top opposite the big house?

Access is no problem there & most of the way down
Tomorrow is another day, so is the next

You are quite correct Greenalert, it is of course the fetternear estate beat. I have only fished it the once (the Don) and we started at the top of the beat near to the road bridge and fished all the way down to the bridge that is in the picture. Which I believe was about as far as one can go. The river as you will know better than I, was up and was very difficult to see the bottom and the boulders on a few occassions nearly caught me out. It looked as if the estate did very little in the way of access into the river due to the amount of vegetation/lack of decent path's etc and the "Salmon Hut" was an absolute complete joke as it was rotted, falling down and virtually no roof!!!. But it was a day out at least in some very beautiful country side. You are lucky in that respect, not forgetting the short drives to some of the best rivers in the area.
