Interesting how the scientists were more intelligible than the politicians and civil servants.

How will this affect Tay river levels?
I know the water was previously diverted into Loch Ericht and would've eventually got back into the Tay system - via Loch Rannoch and more hydro generators.
Now Loch Faskally will have more coming directly into it and more generation potential at the Pitlochry hydro.
Will the Tummel now be a bit higher on average and therefore the lower Tay too?
Or is it all swings and roundabouts for Loch Faskally, more from the Garry but less from somewhere else?

    Looked at a map.
    Shouldn't affect levels much.
Instead of getting to Loch Faskally via Loch Ericht, Loch Rannoch and Loch Tummel the water previously diverted from the Garry at Dalwhinnie will go straight down the Garry to Loch Faskally.
Same amount of water into Faskally.

Opening up another 10 miles of potential spawning area must be good.
I had the privilage over some years to help on occasion with broodstock collection, watching some of the speciman spring salmon being held up in pools above Blair Atholl was criminal.
If this works the pressure will really be on Roseanna Cunningham to come through on directives, could even lead to other systems being re-watered.
