    could have been a crane, very tall. at least 3 to 4 ft tall, grey plumage, with black wing tips, 7 ft wing span, the very top of mainland scotland.?

    Plenty of curlews up here in the far north, lapwings too, but not many, However I have just witnessed seeing a stalk, a huge bird, must have been waist height, and grey body with black feathers towards the end of the wing. I can not understand what it was doing here, but there you go.

    I just pointed out that the EU typically costs 2% where as it costs us 40%-50% to be a member of the UK. Hang on a minute,,,, we live in the "United Kingdom", the clue is in the name, I cant see where you get the above figures, I can see where a lot of the money does come from, the U.k...
