    Question Shortening fly lines

Hi, I have just bought a 8/9 spey line for my Loop Xact 12' 6". Was planning to use polyleaders on this line, to in effect turn it into a (cheap) multi tip. Just wondered if it would be a good idea to shorten the front of the line, to aid turnover of 10' tips. And if so, by how much.

All you will do is rubbish a 8/9 spey line.I take it its a full floater a multi tip line over its head is built to turn over tips from a floater to di5 or di7
I know you said you were going to cut some off.
This line will fish fine with a float or int polytips any more and it will hing
hope you can work out what I am meaning

Some floating lines respond well to being shortened for use with poly leaders, some dont, which line is it you have?

It's one of John Norris's Evolutions. They are selling them cheap at the moment Wasn't thinking of doing anything too drastic, probably just shorten the tip a bit.
