Default Sage Method 15ft #10 Which line?

    Just bought a Sage Method 15ft #10.
Looking for advice regards the best shooting head and Skagit set up for the rod, already been told the Loop SDS Scandi system and either a 600 or 650 gram Skagit. Anybody had experience of using these rods? All advice will be welcome.

Shooting heads around 42g work well, Gaelforce 10/11 54ft head Spey line is great on it. Personally I wouldn't use a Skagit on it.

Rio give good advice with their line selector. I have found their recommendations a good starting point

As Diarmid says - 42 gram shooting heads work fine. I dont like overlining but I probably prefered a 44gram head....just loaded that little bit better I felt. If truth be told thats probably why I sold my one on, I wanted a proper 10 weight(i.e 42g heads) but the magic number for my personal taste with it was 44.

I was having my doubts about the Skagit, something I have never used, will stick with a shooting head for now. Thanks
