    I like that one Fergal but I don't mind mine overdressed. Glo Brite heads are a real bug bear of mine though. I absolutely hate them!

    Your tying though so you use whatever materials you wish!

    Plain old black or red thread varnished is enough for me. I've used up my red thread and really need to get some.

    Hope Fergal doesnít mind me joining in. I love the idea and those flies. Hereís my take:

    Hook: #8 Partridge heavy double (a #10 in normal money)
    Tag: Copper wire
    Tail:Yellow GP neck feather with god Angel hair.
    Body: Black litebrite (top) or floss (bottom)
    Body Hackle: Brown cock saddle (top) / 1/2 stripped Brown Cock Saddle (bottom).
    Rib:Fine oval gold
    Head Hackle: Blue Guinea Fowl over Hot Orange cock saddle

    Very nice GK. The blue guinea fowl looks great and more in line with the original tying.

    Sometimes a sparsely tied fly works very well I prefer a good tail on shrimp flies if itís to light fish can strip it off your left with nothing but nice fly well tied 👌

    Both looks good. But maybe to add a bunch fo bronze mallard to the wing? I think it could bring shape to fly. And for GK, maybe that guinea fowl only as throat?

    Ok, hereís my effort. Not the cutest one, but something to practice. As it doesnít remind t&l anymore, changed the body to uv black dubbing and the ribs to silver tinsel. So it is only a random mishmash
