    Default Munster Blackwater - 2018

The river gave up its first fish on Sunday, just reported today on the FII website :

Michael Fanning from our Macroom office has news from the Munster Blackwater where the first reported salmon from the river was caught at the weekend…

The 1st Salmon from the Munster Blackwater of 2018 was caught on the Clondulane club water by 10 year old Darragh Bransfield from Kilbarry, Fermoy, Co. Cork at 0820 hours on Sunday the 4th of February.

Darragh was fishing a yellow “flying C”. River conditions are reported to have been high and coloured. The salmon weighed in at 8lb and the details were recorded in Darragh’s logbook. Darragh was 10 years old on the day of the capture, and turned 11 the following day. He is delighted with his catch and early present.

congrats to Darragh. what a Birthday present to get !

    Well done young man ,
Mark I believe the Clondulane club stretch is opposite the Inches on Glenda's Upper Kilmurry beat .
This is also where our first Springer was caught last season.
Great spot to pick up a Spring fish.

    Noel.
