Default Guideline Le Cie 14ft8 10/11 (3 piece) which lines?

Anyone any experience of this rod with RTG Power Taper 10/11 (40 gram)heads or Mackenzie G2 9/10 wt (42 gram)? Some websites recommend 38-42 grams while others suggest 42-44 gram heads.
Also what Spey lines work well with this rod?
    Any info appreciated.

    Thanks Diarmid.

I have the uk spey version and I use the sportfish 3evolution switch tip and it flies out, also used bill drury impact spey which was ok and I didnt like the shortcut guideline head but then that was probably me as I prefer the afs heads.

    Hi Fruin,
there is no markings on the rod to say if it's "MF" or "F".

    Thanks Kgm,
mine does say "Spey" on it also, so hopefully my Mackenzie DTX 58ft Multi tip 10/11 might be ok with it. Just need to get heavier shooting heads for it as mine are RTG 10/11 40g. Will give them a try but suspect they will be a bit lightweight for it.

    Cheers Diarmid.

    Default Try the lighter heads

I have found that the Le Cie rods do well with lighter shooting heads- the action speeds up and the line belts out. i would try the 40g heads before you invest in anything else. I once found I had brought my Le Cie 14' 8" 10/11 F with me instead of my 14' Norway and the Le Cie had no problems casting the 8/9 Rio AFS Outbound. However the "Spey" model may have a different sort of action from the F and MF and may not respond so well to lighter heads.
