By all accounts there is plenty of good fishing on Mull. It is quite a large island.

I'm not suggesting you avail yourself of his guiding services, but there are some photos to wet your appetite, and there is brief guide to some of the lochs and rivers. It looks good! :-)

Fished there in 1990 just after my A levels, got to say had a whale of a time. We got on very well with the locals despite nearly being arrested for singing Welsh Hymns!
We fished the lochs for trout, and the Aros estuary for sea trout. Saw 100's of salmon waiting to run the river (it was a very dry summer) rain arrived as we packed to leave.
Things may of changed since Balamory though!

I've fished in Mull quite a bit, mainly the lochs for trout which is pretty much bog standard scottish loch stuff. I've also fished the river Bellart at Dervaig for browns and sea trout. It was good. A bit like Aled I witnessed the estuary filling up with salmon waiting for the rain, to run the river. Never happened while I was there.

Tobermory has become a bit more comercialised since the advent of Balamory but its still a nice spot to visit. Mull is pretty big Island so it's best to have transport if you want a good nose around.

hi.I know i know i am late for this but believe me Mull is one of the best kept secrets in Scotland. The fishing can be fantastic given water. All the rivers are spate streams but fish superbly when the conditions are right! Please let us know how you got on as this island is very close to my heart?
