Default DVDs to watch while in Afghanistan

    Hi,

I'm in Afghanistan for the next few months and was wondering if anyone could recommend any salmon fishing DVDs to keep me entertained when i've got a free minute?

Any recommendations would be greatly received.

    Merry Christmas from Helmand

    Default Salmon DVD's

'Salmon - A Life on the Edge', with Paul Young. Salmon fishing in salt water in the Western Isles. The sands of Uig might take your mind off the sand of Helmand for a wee while.
If you can't get a copy, pm me and I'll send you mine.
    Happy Christmas

If you've not already got a copy then the ASR DVD is well worth watching...

I've watched that DVD on more than one occasions i would class it as salmon angling porn. Brilliant!
Plus the fact that one of my best mates Richard produced it.

    Default Fish porn

Hi WF2, as Strathglass said, the ASR DVD is well worth watching (again & again). If you have enough time before you head off, it will definitely be worth your time obtaining a free copy from the Kharlovka Company. You could struggle a bit to get it quickly due to the Festive Season, but I'm sure if you let them know in an email (especially that you are going to Afghanistan), I'm sure that they'll do their best & pull out the stops for you. Here's hoping. Anyway all the Best for 2011, mate & hope you get the DVD & also enough "Fish Porn" in time.

Wokkafisher2, I have a spare copy of Home for Salmon which I'd be very happy to let you have.

If you have reasonable broadband useage while in Helmand, it's worth having a look through lots of the films on http://globalflyfisher.com/video/

I wish you a safe tour and a speedy return from Afghanistan. I have just had two nephews return from their second tours there.

Thanks to everyone for their suggestions. I'll have something to take my mind off things at the end of a day now.

    Merry Christmas.
