Happy Christmas everyone and hopefully the first batch of Scottish Springers are working their way across the sea to our shores just in time for the Openings in January and February.

Peace and goodwill and best wishes to one and all*

May 2020 bring many fish and many more life experiences.

I am off to go and read my favourite new present Boo's "Hooked on Hope" - Ribble salmon don't catch 'emselves you know...

Then a date with a new graph on rainfall that will blow the AGW hypothesis to smithereens...

Then hopefully if the river settles down, to the grayling...

    Cheers, aye

"...hooking mortality is higher than you'd expect: further evidence that as a numbers game, catch-and-release fishing isn't always as straightforward as it seems"
