Default Replacement sections for rods without lifetime guarantees

    Hi,

Managed to break the tip section of my shakey oracle scandi and was wondering about sourcing the section as they only offer a one year warranty. Does anyone know a reputable dealer of spares? Would be happy to buy from a forum member if they broke a different section of the same rod? 13ft 9in #9.

    Gary.
PS: let the shakey bashing commence. 'It's bad enough you bought one, now you want to fix a broken one. Why not just get a decent rod..........etc' lol

Just phone Hardy, I'm sure they'll sort you a new section out.

    Default Kp spares

Jock mentioned kpspares in another thread.
I've just ordered a tip from an Oracle switch
    20 pounds.
    Not received it yet.

I bought a replacement for my lending Shakey Scandi rod from KP spares. No problem. Turnaround is about a week and I'm in the Highlands!

I broke an oracle section through my own fault last year. It was well out of the warranty. Rory's in Dublin sorted out a replacement for 1/4 of the new rod price plus a tenner for delivery to them. I was very happy with that.

A lot depends on the retailer whether they will bother to help you out. Sometimes it pays to shop local.

    Default replacement

Ah that explains it Gary - I wondered why you had come back to the car park on Monday to get a different rod...
Hope you get it sorted mate.
