    Would not have thought there is much good fly water in the Seine though is there?

    It does show that you don't need a hatchery if you have suitable habitat.

    So that's where the Thames fish ended up????????? The now abandoned Thames restocking efforts of the 1990,s did produce an initial return, but its now just a few fish. The seatrout are another matter, large numbers are being encountered especially in the tidal reaches. All the Thames needs is water, low/no flow through large parts of the year give the fish little chance, shame because the potential in there, the Seine at least has a decent flow!!!!

    I don't have any knowledge of the 2016 run, but the last number I've been heard of was a total of 125 sea trouts and salmons counted in 2013 at Poses dam far downstream from Paris.
    Perhaps the Dee fish though about running south looking for tapas, sun and cider in the spanish rivers rather than visiting Paris??
