    Default Autumn spinning

    Scottish Salmon Fishing Surgery

Hi Guys, we have just updated the "Spinning around" feature on the website, which you can access using the link above, titled "Late season spinning". We look at autumn spinning tactics. Do any forum members have any tactics they would like reveal?

Yes, my advice is don't do it!! It's a nightmare with leaves, much worse than fly. Don't really know why, but probably a much bigger area for leaves to catch.

You might catch more leaves, but its a lot quicker to winde a spinner in than draw a fly line in to remove the leaves.

I have a secret method to avoid any leafage snagage and it works a treat..
But due to some mocking from my chums I don't share this info liberally..

Without wishing to sound pious, and I spin myself occasionally, autumn spinning with a high risk of catching coloured or spawning fish at the very least should be barbless.
