Somers in Aberdeen might have some size 13 in gold but that's about it. It seems the end of the line

I bought some fulling mill hooks which are quite strong and come in gold black and silver. I would caution though, that they seem quite small in comparison to the salars. They gape on the 10s is not far off the 13 salars. The 14 fms are are propper wee doubles and do a nice silver ally.

These hooks seem so popular with fly tyers, it makes you wonder why they decided to discontinue them.
There must be a market, judging by requests for information and availability on the forum.
    Tight lines.

I love tying on them, and they look the bizz, even if it probably doesn't make much difference to the fish.

    Lol

Patriots are very similar to Salars in shape.
I also think they are sharper than Salars.
    This is my fishing rod!.
There are many like it but this one is mine.
    Without me,my rod is useless!.

Are these first or second quality? I think I'm right in saying that he bought up the remaining stock when Partridge closed their factory in Redditch, and at one time was selling Salars that hadn't been through the usual quality control. I got some a few years ago, and while some sizes were mostly fine, others had quite a high proportion of hooks that I wasn't happy with.

Yes, they're nice to tie on, those turned in points seem to be very sticky to me, so I think it can make a difference to the fish!!
