    Default New 14ft rod

I'm thinking of a new 14ft rod either the NRX 9/10 or the cross s1. Any thoughts?

    Cheers

I owned the 14 ft nrx briefly, and could not get on with it at all with the lines i was using (typical 9/10 shooting heads 38g )
I found the 14ft cross a very easy rod to use with the same type of lines
    When in doubt...exaggerate !!

Another vote for the loop 14' cross s1, lovely rod.
I use shooting heads and skagits on mine, short speys should be good too
Easy casting rod, nice and light too.

    Good luck

Default A vote for the small fella

NRX but the 13 footer, 8/9 will cover all but the very biggest rivers and throw heads up to 38/39 grams, a good bit more than the maker's rating. A joy to fish.

Fished my loop cross s1 14ft today on the tummel for the first time.what a cracking rod.
Rio scandi versi tip.used the fastest sinking tip and it was a breeze.
Had the 14 nrx and didn't like it at all.

Horses for course I would say, defo spend some time with both rods if you can.
Try lines that you will predominately use and I am sure you will make the right decision.
Both great rods without doubt but, one will suit YOU more than the other.

    Default Nrx

I have an NRX 14' you can try and even buy if you like it, I live in aberdeen so give me a shout if it suits you sir.

I also have several lines you can try which I think go quite well and you may of course try your own lines.
