Best socks I've had for wading are Orvis socks. Not cheap but mine have lasted me two seasons. Nice and warm but not too thick.

Yes ibm, you got it !
I also like buffs. First, neck and head must be warm, to avoid cold feet and hands !
Itís a natural body reflex. From a scientific standpoint,
    - if itís really cold: mostly for us it is in and around cold water, even when itís possible for others to sit away and enjoy the sun less covered without the impacts of cold water
    - and we are not well equipped, blood circulation will reduce the coverage for the most important body parts, organs and brain and reduce the circulation in hands and feet, which are ďless importantĒ. Cold feet in result.

Covering neck (otherwise unprotected blood circulation to the brain) and head definitely takes part to avoid cold feet.
And for the head: One have to do more, one less😁
    Cheers

I like sealskinz there made from a water proof breathable neoprene like material and lined with merino wool, cost around £30 and come with a 2 year guarantee.

Well, tried the new bridgedale socks and liners today.
Did they solve the cold feet problem, no not really although they kept the cold at bay for longer than normal, so limited success I suppose.
    Nice comfy socks.

My feet have been freezing this last few trips when wading, poor circulation doesn't help mattters.
Anyone recommend a nice warm sock to help out when wading in cold water.
Ps can't be too thick as it needs to go inside my stockingfoot waders.
    Thanks
