Thanks guys and thanks Alan for the inspiration.

I was actually also surprised how nice a pattern can turn out by using only one color.

    Regards,
    Tom

My fly is a (slightly modified) Ross Special. This fly was created by Nip Ross of Sydney, Nova Scotia and made popular by the June 1948 Fortune magazine article "Atlantic Salmon". It is an extremely popular fall fly on the Margaree.

I love this fly, I'll be trying this pattern out shortly

    Default Red Marauder Shrimp

Thought I'd give it a go this month.

Apart from a Red Francis or Red Ally's I hardly use red flies so it was good to try something a bit different.

    Hook: Size 7 Silver Salar
    Thread: Red
    Tag: Oval Silver
Tail: Red Bucktail with 3 strands of Red Krystal Flash
    Butt: Red Glo-Brite
    Rib: Oval Silver
    Body: Red Ice Yarn Dubbing
    Underwing: Red Marble Fox
Wing: Red Bucktail with 3 stands of Silver Krystal Flash
    Hackle: Red Badger
    Jungle Cock

Are ye brave enough to enter Al ??

Put up a Tyne special, God knows you must have a few that aren't as scruffy as that wee heided Ponoi Gold of yours

No mod decisions have been required since the introduction of the new format and it's a long time since we've seen a Maughan special - go on you know you want tae, leave the camera to the side for a minute and get the vice oot
