I have thank about this fly for few seasons.
This pattern is recommended for rather cold water and fresh fish.
I am not surprised because it is nice imitation of herring.

I soon will give them chance
Nice flies Klops
blue is a very underated colour here in the UK IMHO
I hope they bring you much success when you get the chance to give them a swim.
Nice fishy-looking flies . How big are they? There is nothing in the picture to give an idea of scale.
Yes I think that blue is underrated in UK. I think that mostly due fact that few people use it.
Look what happened with pink. It was totally color not for Atlantic till moment people started use it .
I tied my flies rather big but not giant . 8-9cm I think it is enough big fly but still no problem with casting.
Some I tied only with conehead some also with 10-15US tube connecting with plastic tube on rear part .
I like to have flies in the same size but with different weight.
Brilliant flies Klops, Ive been looking for a good pic of this pattern for ages! Must go and try an tie one up. May I ask, have you any river/country in mind for trying this fly?
Kola river is my choice this June
I had a 29lb fish from Krokken pool on the Gaula on a sillen with an orange tail.
Its close relative, the blue Norseman, accounted for some good early season fish on the Orkla last season.
Here's my attempt at a Sillen, Orkla in July?
Spot on Sinktip. Try pushing the cone down a bit tighter onto the dressing on the ones you're about to tie for me
